I saw an F50 on my way home from work the other day...it must take some serious cahones, way too much money, or both to drive something like that around LA during weekday evening rush-hour.

Looks cool, except for the Lamborghini-rip-off door design. Oh, and speaking of F50's, there is a WRECKED one currently at Queen City Auto Rebuild here in Redmond (ouch!)

I am so close! I want a 348 so bad! I will have one soon. I almost bought one in Florida, the guy flaked out at the last minute. I would think 50k would buy something decent, a lot of these guy's cant accept what they've lost, they want to let it go but the bite is to much. Maybe this winter!

Bill:
Run, screaming, from the Chrysler products. We have a '98 Sebring Convertible and I cannot believe how much work needs to be done just to keep the plastic knick knacks from falling off, the oil from leaking from the filter, the suspension from not squeaking, and the steering fluid from leaking as well. I had no say on this car, but had no problems with my wife purchasing it either. I certainly know better now! Sorry for the off-OT. <\vent> John

I sure would love to have a 355. Everyone I talk to who has had a Ferrari tells me never to sell my 911 for a Ferrari. They tell me nothing drives like a Porsche. I think nothing looks as sweet as a Ferrari. I would like to take one out and ring that baby out and see what it would do. I would not want to spend the beans for a Ferrari.

Hey Eric: I saw that F50 at Queen City, just heartbreaking! I was told it was owned by some anonymous rich guy, and wrecked in regular street traffic. Aren't there only fifty of these in the country?

Nader-
The guy did that in street traffic? Wow, that's got to hurt the `ol ego as well as the pocket book! To answer your question: I think there were 50 sold in the US, with only 349 ever produced! I believe there were some pretty strict guidelines for ownership as well. For instance, you had to be a current/previous Ferrari owner, and you couldn't sell it within a certain time period. Not to mention, buyers were STRONGLY encouraged to drive/race it, and not lock it away in some garage or museum with zero miles. Also, I know of 3 others that were complete totals. I wonder how many are actually still in one piece! |
