Some of the Becks must have old Build dates. I have seen this on AC Cobra kit cars as well.

Its strange because my neighbor just had one built from scratch a few years back and now has a antique plate on it???? I know we would not let any of these (kit) cars be shown with genuine Porsche cars in PCA car shows.....

Search SEMA

I found this PRO-HOBBYIST

but there are probably other bills that apply, such as this one from Iowa
SEMA-MODEL REPLICA VEHICLE LEGISLATION SIGNED INTO LAW IN IOWA | Specialty Equipment Market Association

These laws aren't to create forgeries (selling a replica as real), but instead to create an opportunity for hobby cars that don't have to pay the same excess licensing fees for a car that is not intended as a daily driver.

As a former "Kit Car" manufacturer, I recall, that depending on the state, kit cars are often registered based upon either the year of the donor chassis or engine.

iv heard of people ordering custom plates with the numbers that are on their old plates and just using those on the car and shelving the plates the dmv gave them. Probrobly not really legal but it works
