Torn between chrome and painted h4's

Hi all,
Been in the process of putting my 1978 targa back to original chrome look the way it came off the assembly line. Chrome trim is already in place. I have pain flaking off the window trim so I will get to that next.
Big question do I deviate when I upgrade to h4 lenses and bezels. I pulled the trigger and purchased chrome h4 and also the cover in case I want to paint. Although my understanding is the covers look a little clumsy. Should I stick with the chrome, don't like put painted cover over or just return and get the black trim and paint?

If your trim is silver, then chrome.

If your trim is black, then painted or black.

You are going back to silver trim, then chrome.

I'd say chrome with the bright trim.

However, if you want painted headlight bezels, you need the cover. That's the way the factory did it. With the chrome lights, you can use the painted cover if you want to try the body color look. With the black lights, you still need the painted cover if you want colored bezels. Do not paint the black lights. Paint the cover.

And in my opinion, the cover does not look clumsy. It covers the aiming screws and should fit very snugly over the headlight bezel. It should be almost imperceptible.
