fuel pipelines

Hello,

I have 69 S MFI.

As the last fuel pipelines change I did was almost 2 years ago and the car has been in the garage for almost 3 months, I want to replace the 4 pipelines of the fuel filter (From & to the MFI pump, the Elect. pump & the tank).

Can you tell me please what pressures must support these pipelines, beside resisting the action of the fuel.

I have heard about 250 psi (17,2 Bar). Is that correct?

Should they have a fabric / metal coverage or can they be like those of the photo that I attached (pressure limit printed)

Thank you in advance

E.

As far as I know...from tank to pump...no pressure..just flow.
From pump to accumulator...about 65PSI.
From acc to MFI pump...same...about 65PSI.
From MFI to each injector...about 250PSI..(which is why the originals were steel).
There are plastic/nylon hoses available for the MFI to Injectors...but be careful with the pressure rating...300PSI would not give you enough head room for error.....and...if the those hoses can flex or expand...you will end up with a difficult to tune situation.
From all the pix I have seen of 917s...they seem to use plastic/nylon in that area...and they were/are AWESOME...LOL.

Thanks Bob,

As I am planning to change just de pipelines from accumulator to and from both pumps (electro & MFI) 65 PSI is enough, and then I should have no problems with mine (300PSI).

The only one remaining doubt is if it should have been covered by a fabric or the inner fabric the pipeline has would be enough.

Thanks again

Ed.

The ones I used as replacements were a poly type on the outside with a Teflon (I think) liner to stop any expansion.
I got the hose from McMaster-Carr years ago...to use on Harleys.
It was about 5/16" ID I believe...but they had 3/8" available back then too.
When you use clamps...try to get aircraft type gear clamps..they have 360deg wrap around solid stainless...not like regular gear clamps where the thread part of the band cuts into the OD of the hose.

PS...just found the old fuel accumulator thingy in a box....don't know if it's any good...but if you need one...I took mine out and replaced it with a metal type fuel filter (local parts store variety).

If it will help, I have in stock the correct 7.5mm fuel hose in the latest Multi-Fuel rubber compound from Cohline in Germany.

Email me and I will send details.

Cheers,
