floor mat question '83 to '84

My local dealer is selling complete floor mat sets for $110.00 (4 mats). They state for '84 to '89, coupe, targa, cab. I have a '83 sc. Is there any difference in the floor board between the SC's and Carrera's? The dealer doesn't know.

Thanks,
Don

There are model differences though. Mats for Coupes will not fit Targas/Cabs.

I tried the mats from the dealer thinking that they would be a better fit than aftermarket..... horrible. I think that they are cut for a Targa, big gaps around the wheel well. When I told the parts man that the Targa floor was different than a coupe, he looked at me like I was speaking a different language. I don't have ANY faith in the dealer regarding pre water cooled cars.

I ordered brand new Porsche Tequipment floor mats for my '86 from our host, and they fit so poorly I had to return them.

Thanks guys. My mats are fine, old... but fit fine. I'll spend the 100 bucks on gas and have some fun driving.

Like Eric said - Targas & Cabs have narrower front footwells due to the additional strengthening.

I ordered the Lloyds mats from our host and they fit great (had to specify the Targa set for my particular car).

Lloyd's mats are very nice and are not expensive. I paid $120, shipping included, for a set of 4 with "turbo" embroidery for my 951 from eurowebparts.com. They are leagues nicer than the factory mats they replaced, which tend to curl like potato chips.

I bought some coco mats last year from Jeff at cocomats.com. The fit is absolutely perfect, that is if you like that look instead of carpet. They clean up very easily, and as I said, the fit is perfect.
