Neat New Feature IN Pelican Checkout - Need Help to Beta Test from Intl Customers...

Okay, I got real tired of converting exchange rates in my head while I was in Europe, so I came up with the neat idea to do it automatically in our shopping cart!

I would like your feedback. Please go to our on-line catalog:

http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/catalog.htm

and add something to your cart. Then go to Review Items, where you will be able to enter your exchange rate. You can also enter it on the CheckOut page.

Let me know what you think...

Thanks,

Wayne

I think this is a ploy to get us to buy more stuff.

"and add something to your cart. Then go to Review Items, where you will be able to enter your exchange rate. You can also enter it on the CheckOut page."

Do you think we'll just add anything to our carts? I have so many things in my project list right now I can't think.:D

Cool idea though, keep it up Wayne!

Yep works fine for Hong Kong dollars.

Only problem I could see is not knowing your 'own currency' to USD conversion factor.

Could you have access to the conversion figure by clicking on a country name and it throws whatever the conversion factor is into the calculation for you? I would assume this is hyperlinked to current exchange rates? Is that how its done on some of the big sites - like does Amazon do that...I can't recall but I thought so??

Anyhow...great feature which saves getting the bloody calculator out everytime.

Cheers
Mark

I don't know where to get a table of the current conversion rates, otherwise I would do that. I could hard-code some rates in there, but in a matter of days, they would be out-of-date...

Okay, I added an easy link for people to find out what their exchange rate it. Check it out now...

Wayne,

That works just fine. Well done. I honestly don't know how you get so much done. Your time management must be extraordinary. More to you!

Wayne,

Can I ask one thing out of interest? If you'd rather keep it confidential then don't bother replying buuutttt....

Do you know what percentage of your business is international ordering?

Between zero and 20 percent the number lies...
