When did the production run of the '72 911 start/stop?

Pelicans:

I am trying to find out when the production run of the '72 911 started and stopped.

I've Googled the topic and no specs on either Pelican Forum or Early 911 Registry. It's probably in the Red Book, but my copy is packed since I'm moving (to a house with a bigger garage!)

Can anyone help me out? No, this isn't "Stump the Chumps" on NPR's Car Talk. Thanks.

Typically all Porsches start their production Model Year in August and end in June/July.So the MY 1972 would have started on 08/71 and ended 06/72. July is typically used for re-tooling the assembly line and factories for the next MY, at the same time as the assembly workers are on summer vacation.

That timeline fits with my 1972 which was first registered in the UK in October 1971, mine has a chassis number that ends 0048.

There are many built in July of 1971, but the earliest I know of was one built in March 1971.

This is actually a pretty interesting discussion... when were the production years actually built during the calendar year...

Is there a good source of information that talks about changes in tooling, worker vacations, some of the other things they did just to build these, etc.... is there a good book, or general reference?
