I have a '68 911 (ex 912) with 62 litre fuel tank (according to its original owners' manual). When my car has about 1/4 left, I can't even consider going around a bend, or the engine will cut out. The fuel splashes around considerably in the tank, to such an extent that I am forced to refill after 45 litres, every time. Is this normal? I mean, shouldn't it have baffles or something inside the tank to keep this from happening?

I have a -71 and it splashes also. My engine won't cut out but I can see the fuel level warning light occasionally when cornering hard.

I find it strange, since Porsches are meant to be cornered hard. Nobody else with the problem?

Hello
Normally if your red light flashes up in curves or while accel you have some 5 L reserve. If the light is red on the straight the engine will stall in hard curves. I would check if the tank has to much dirt cloging up the filter mesh. Grüsse |
