996 brakes with design 90's ?

I would like to install Design 90's (16Jx6) over 996 brakes for a project I'm working on. The problem is that the calipers would be wedged between the wheel and rotor. Is there a way to fit this combination? Is it safe to take a little material off the outside surface of the caliper? I have been advised not to shave some off the wheel, but what if the wheel were internally reinforced somehow. Maybe a weld along the channel that the valve stem sits in. If anyone had any advice on this or if more background info is needed, please let me know.

thanks
Scott
