Question Interior Questions

I’m in the process of installing a new dash pad and new vinyl on the windshield pillars. I’ll post some pictures when I’m finished, it’s been a fun project.

I have two simple questions…

The first is weather or not the dash is supposed to have Philips-head screws that attach the front of the dash. See the attached dashpad photo and the arrows. My new dash pad doesn’t have holes in the arrowed locations but it does have thin strips of vinyl. Do I need to screw through this vinyl? Are these screws factory?

Secondly, the vinyl on the windshield pillars… is it rolled on the bottom like it is on the top (see pointer in photo)? I can’t find any photo’s of this so I wasn’t sure if they tucked a little vinyl under to give it a smooth edge or if they just left the edge showing.

Any help or photos would be greatly appreciated.

TR,
I do not have photos handy, but my fading memory says that vinyl on the pillar is rolled. And if it helps, I'm planning to roll it when I do the interior on my car.

Yes, there are screws. They have some countersunk washers that hold that excess vinyl down. The new dash I installed didn't have holes either- I just poked 'em with the screws. No problem.
