Spare tire inflation

As I bought my 88 930 used , the mechanism for inflation for the spare was non exsistent. Could someone tell me where I can get it? What does it look like? I don't want to take long trips without it.thanks for any information ...regards jer

Is there room under the carpet for the inflator and the case, or does it sit in the trunk, out in the open?

Mine fits in the smuggler's box. However I heve the old compressor which is smaller and does not have the nice case.

The one pictured is the only one sold by Porsche now. You can always just get a little one from Walmart if you want a smaller one to hide in the smuggler's box or under the carpet.

If I remember correctly neither Porsche nor Pelican sells them anymore. You can try and find one on e-bay and pay a bunch or do what the local Porsche dealer told me to do and go to Sears and buy a small Craftsman one for under $20.00.

Just my thoughts...

When I bought my car 1 year ago nobody had them in stock and I didn't want to drive the car with-out one. After some searching, I found one from a used parts place in CT (can't remember the name now) for something like $30 bucks.

Check your local salvage yards or e-bay.
