Stolen car alert!

Guys, some of you may not have seen this, it was posted over on the classifieds and I've yet to see it go live on the technical forum. Everyone should be aware of this theft and the car. It's NOT my car, but I'm assuming OP won't mind me spreading the word:

I saw this posted yesterday, and feel strongly that the Pelican community can find this car. This is not the kind of car a pimple faced baggy pant kid steals for fun, this car was stolen by someone who knows or is in the Porsche community or shady parts business.
Be on alert, no bargain part is cheap enough to overcome the heartache this has caused the owner and his family.
LOCK AND LOAD.

You guys are just amazing! My boys have their fingers crossed, these guys were pros. It was an older white man 40's to 50's and knew how to start it without a key in a few minutes, he also was very familiar with driving it as I was chasing him on foot for a block.

It is just amazing to me that after three years of working on it and tracking down parts to make it 100% someone would steal it 3 weeks after completing it. We are truly devastated, my kids were in shock as we saw it happen 25 feet from us. As all too many Porsche "nuts" we heard the engine start and we jumped up and I ran after him.

Good news is that we have video on the person and the car while it was stolen and hopefully will see it back very soon.

This car is tough to miss! Thank you again for all your support- really appreciate it.

Gorgeous Car! Very well could be international theft. I'd probably be looking towards our neighbors on the south. Can you get a photo of the theif out on the thread? Good luck.

You have probably already done this but might I suggest mentally going through the names of suppliers, vendors, shops, inquirers, etc. that you dealt with during the build to see if any of them give you a bad feeling in your gut. It seems like too much of a coincidence that this happened so soon after completion. Glad everyone is safe and good luck Neal.

+1

Some guy who is a professional thief just happens to be walking by the car and decides to take it? And is familiar with Porsches, enough to hotwire it and drive it off. I'm sure that's possible, but it almost seems as if they knew of the existence of the car.

I know the victim and police will be looking at every angle, including that one.

Let's all ensure the word of this theft spreads far and wide, the more eyes the better.

And I love the idea of trying to get the video of the perp posted up here. It would be most excellent if someone recognized the guy.

Guys let's keep this bumped in the top three threads (hard to do in this forum, I know) but just to help out Neal and his family.

Neal, glad to hear you and your family are alright.

Please notify the police if you haven't already. Luckily you have video. Check if the lot or street hass security cameras too.

Keep your eyes peeled on car sales sites, even listings without a picture or ones that just 'may' match.

Adding on to Winter's comments, maybe even post the video on Youtube. Then again, maybe not, I don't know.

Beautiful car and I hope you find it. Good luck!

All be safe, have a good one!

Cheers

Another bump to keep it up top.
Neal, I hope you get the car back and provide the thief with the proper punishment.
