Partial engine drop procedure?
 

Anyone know of a good article on how to do a partial engine drop? I did a search but cannot find one.

I have an 83 SC

I have an oil leak from the pulley shaft seal that I am looking to take care of next weekend.

Is it as simple as disconnecting the following

Battery
shift coupler
rear engine mounts
take off rear bumper (mine is FG IROC)
take off muffler

then lower a bit with the jack making sure not to over stress fuel lines and electrical connections.

Any suggestions would be a big help

Thanks that was what I was looking for

I can't seem to find anything detailing how to just drop the tranny side of the engine...I have done this a long time ago but i can't recall exactly what needs to be disconnected and what doesn't (for a G50 Carrera). The link here is referring to removing the bolt in the engine bay...not what I'm needing to do. I need to get enough room to remove the starter on a G50. Like I said, I did this a long time ago and just winged it but would like to make sure I'm following some documented process.

I've done this at least 3 times, think you can find included in a starter thread, it's simple as I remember.
Loosen the two lower heater tubes clamps, slide off the tube .
Unclamp shift rod inside car in the tunnel. Under car, get rod clear so you can pivot tranny down.
Support bracket and remove two bracket bolts.
Obviously car is already jacked up so you can work.
Lower bracket about 5 inches .
The a look at other tunnel items and unclip if needed. Maybe disconnect ground wire near tranny mount if snug. Obviously discon. Battery Grnd.
