1984 3.2L Why no New Parts Listing for Magnecore wires.

Can't seem to find many listings for Spark plug wires for an 84 3.2. I am looking for Red wires.

Would like to use Magnecore. They seem like the best and most reasonable option.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The best and most reasonable option is to go with a Beru OE replacement set...Pelican has it and it's about half the price of Porsche OEM. On the plastic brackets for my Beru set you can see where someone at the factory zipped off the "P" Porsche factory logo (because they have to...). Exact same set, half the price.

I used Magnecore kv85 and while the wires themselves are o.k., the ends suck. At the distributor their end boots are universal and crowd each other making seating on the cap that much harder. At the plug end they do not have the degree of positive snap that the factory wires do. Very not impressed, others rave about them- I think they are way overrated.

Unfortunately no OE wires in red that I know of.

I just bought a set of Magnecor KV85 for my 84 Targa from another vendor, because Pelican did not have them listed. PM me if you want the name.

On the plus side: price was below list and delivery was quick. And they are the correct length and they are red.

On the minus side: Magnecor distributor to coil wire does not want to stay in coil. I fixed it with some minor mods.

I had a similar experience with Magnacore wires, very tight fit and when I tried to remove a wire to check a plug the end came off. I got rid of them and went with stock OE Beru style a few years ago - no issues with the Beru set.

PK - Have you considered the Clewett wires for the 3.2?

I saw those but I have not seen anyone comment on those. For the type of driving I and most likely 99% of people do all the quality wires will perform the same. It comes down to fitment and the quality of the connectors.

Have you seen any reviews on the Clewett wires?

I use Clewett wires on my twin plugged 3.2.
They are fantastic as is dealing with Clewett.

I believe Magnecor's are made to order, so Pelican should be able to get them for you if you call.
