Radio Replacement 911 Targa

I have a 1974 911 Targa, I want to replace the radio and speakers while keeping the original openings. I looking to install a CD, mp3, and radio. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums.

There is a ton of great info here. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but the search tool is quite powerful. I recommend trying it for other radio install ideas.

I recently bought a Retrosound Zuma (no CD, takes memory sticks and Aux input) and it looks "period correct" in the dash. I haven't turned it on yet, though.

When I had my 75 targa, we had no problem fitting a standard DIN radio into the dash slot, so your choices are not limited by any means.

Though I've had both Sony and Alpine units in my cars, I rather like the original type look of Blaupunkt radios in Porsches. I believe they are once again available with the auxiliary input so you can use an iPod or other MP3 player. Not many folks are using cd changers anymore!

yep, any single din radio will fit, you just have to decide what options you want (bluetooth, cd, digital media, streaming bt, design, etc).

There are plenty of late 90's DIN Becker radios made for Porsche that look nice.

If I remember correctly, the 220 model can be set up to accept an MP3 feed. However, the 220 has some issues with the screen display that can be modified.

Given they are 15 years old, there has to be plenty of other options out there but most new I see look too glitzy for me.

Here is one of the Becker models.
