Alternative to the traditional belly pan?

The belly pan on my '74 is pretty ragged. I looked here for a new one and they have to be special shipped from Germany and that takes a while. So what are the other options out there for belly pans? I was surprised to see Rennline doesn't have something. Anybody using a belly pan alternative they recommend?

I think he means the protective (and removable) shield over the steering rack/fuel pump.

There are aluminum/composite ones I see on the forums from time to time. They are usually one offs tho.....

Mine looked like one of my PO's went off-roading. I banged it as flat as possible, and sent it for a nice powder coat - she looks great now.

Yeah, the removable pan under the front. I'm surprised no one makes a good aftermarket replacement. Guess I will look into beating mine back into shape or fabricate something. Upside to that is there's got to be 2lbs to shave off there. Haha

It's the lowest point on the car, on the front..... not really some place you need to shave weight

When I did my suspension refresh two years ago I removed it...have never put it back on but it looks brand new with the new high temp paint.

Are you concerned at all about any of the vitals down there (brake MC, steering rack..) being exposed to the road? I've thought about just removing mine too, but am a little scared.

I think about it but thats about it...So far, no issues but I guess it only takes once. I actually though about, a year or so ago, making a fiberglass version but never did.
