renewing the look of your leather seats....

the seats in my 911 need a little attention, the color (red) is faded and just doesn't match the door panels. what would be the best "lotion/treatment" to bring the color back to where it should be? i looked in the archives but didn't see much with red seats.
here's a pic

assume you are using a leather care but if this does not work, try dying to the orginal color. There are numerious threads on this subject to learn more, good luck

Hi there,

If you want to make your seats look like new, I have one word for you...... "surflex."

It's amazing stuff, and you can get it are carplus.com. There are are few things you need to do to properly prep, but it's easy as can be. If I can do, ANYONE can.

Perform a search with the word "surflex" and you'll get the info. you need. I LOVE the results with my car.

good luck,

Dying the leather is the best shot. There seems to be a schism on the best material; Surflex worked for me, but others like Leatherique - lots of thread on this subject.

Here's what you seats could look like. Don't recall who posted these pics, but they were 'a friends' car. Niiiiiice.

We'll have another example of Leatherique soon - I've got the kit waiting for my RR to get back from the painter, so I can dye the seats tan...

Smile dying leather...

I have seen both good and bad dye jobs. To me, it appears that the quality of the dye job is directly proportional to the time and care taken during the prep work, application, and adherence to the instructions. Making sure you've got the correct color match doesn't hurt either. Anyhow, good luck, and let us know how it turns out!
