AC controls wiring removal

Since my AC no longer works and I just went through cleaning up nmy interior with a new carpet kit, etc. I removed the center console and want to pull out the AC controls/wiring. These wires appear to go through the firewall but I can't tell for sure, I can't seen to find them from under the hood. Do these get routed off to the side or are they hidden under something?
