Wrong caliper ?
Hi, I'm rebuilding a 1974 Targa (Base Model); after a complete teardown I'm putting everything back together. Did change the rotors, and sent out all calipers for rebuilt.
FRT RH re-install went well; but FRT LH is a different story.... I wasn't able to install the caliper because of interference with the disk. At first I thought it was a questing of the inner bearing not being seated correctly. Put back the hub on the press; nothing moved. By looking carefully at the caliper itself I've noticed that the clearance was about 0.100" less on the LH then on the RH Casting #: RH (ATE) Outer: 45P Inner: 10R LH (ATE) Outer I88 Inner: 33 Spacer thichkness is equal on both sides. Lastly, the rotors removed (maybe because of wear were significantly thinner: Old: 0.735" New: 0.805" Any guidance would be appreciated, Thanks http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1373835294.jpg |
Have you talked to the vendor that did the work?
