How do you guys get that much negative camber?!
I am setting up the front of my 930. Best I can tell, porsche recommends zero camber, or close to, as most cars are used primarily on the road.
Yet, I see folks on here running -2, -4, -5?! understand the reason why, I just don't understand the "how." How do you get that? Looking at the stock set up, the top strut hookup in the wheel well can move left/right, forward/back, about 1/2 an inch. I would think that gives you 1 degree or so of range of motion, maybe 2. How do you get 4 degrees? 5 degrees? None of the posts mention any modifications, so I am inferring this is with stock set ups. Are folks enlarging the mouting holes and ovaling them out? Bo |

Most do raised/rewelded spindles and lower the car. This allows for greater negative camber while retaining front suspension geometry.

Many run offset strut top mounts and/or decambered ball joints. You can get around -3 degrees with these bolt on items. any more than that, you need to start doing some work on the strut top boxes or go w/ 935 suspension.

Look here:
Pelican Parts.com - QuickChange Camber Plates The hole is able to be positioned offset from center, allowing the struts to move more inward toward the center of the car. This allows more negative camber.

I should add that is just one of several products available that do this.

Just lowering the car increases camber - I had trouble getting to 0 camber with the car lowered, it wanted to go negative but not positive. You can watch this in action by jacking up your car and watching the camber swing from more negative to more positive.

Tarret camber plates and ER decambered balljoints will get you close to -3.0 front camber, anything more and you're looking at strut boxes and lots of $$$ ...
