Schnorr Washers

Hey Everyone,

Where are you buying your Schnorr washers?
I contacted Schnorr but they only sell them in qty's of 1000.
BTW, these washers are for the axle capscrews.

Let me know.
Larry

McMaster-Carr

They come in a Schnorr bag even though they're not listed specifically as Schnorr washers.

Sorry, I thought that link went to the actual M8 version.

You want part number 93501A030
Bag of 100 washers, M8, $10.25 plus shipping..

You can buy moon plates too for 8mm if you sniff around. They are a VW part number.

McMaster-Carr

I also buy my CV bolts there, packs of 25 are perfect, you have a spare in case one gets chewed up.

I found them at my local Ace Hardware store- after I ordered them from McMaster Carr! They're the same things from the same sources... "Schnorr" is the manufacturer name- Belleville is the type of washer.

Get Nord-Locks instead, do a search on them, several threads. Often available locally if you have a Fastenal around.

You can get Grade 12.9

McMaster has the bolts in Grade 12.9 so the bolts can handle a little over torque without stretching and failing. I run my 10mm at a little higher torque because the 12.9 bolts stretch less for a given torque. Replace the bolts & washers every time you drop the CVs. Cheap insurance.
