Know where to get an alternator rebuilt in SC?

Anyone know where I can get my alternator rebuilt in SC?

Turns out the alternator was causing the issues I had a week or so ago. I posted about those Here.
How do I know it's the alternator? Because the car completely died this time. Wouldn't crank, alternator light wouldn't light. Nada. Got the car jump started and pulled the negative cable to the battery. Died immediately.

As an aside, of course it died 35 miles from my home. of course it died headed to a night out with friends. And of course it died in a less than desirable part of Columbia, SC. No way I was going to leave the car and fetch my trailer. I made a call and had it flat bedded back to Camden.

Advance Auto - $164

May not be as good as a brand new bosch but It will have a warranty.

Buy ToughOne Alternator - Remanufactured - 90 Amps 14278 at Advance Auto Parts

Alternator will be one from an 88 and will be Porsche issue - just a function of the rebuild quality. This varies and is where you roll the dice.

Eat the $45 core and send off your current one for rebuild then you have a backup.

Bench test prior to install.

i am sure there are good places in columbia. a porsche alt is really nothing different than any other alt. if you don't find one,, go to carolina auto electric in charleston.
i have an SC alternator that is new but i broke one of the brushes on the regulator.

if you have an original alt i would have it rebuilt vs putting in a cheaper aftermarket alt.
