Overheating
I have a 1969 911T with 1970 2.2L engine with 2.7P&C. Making a 2.5L engine. The engine has been running poorly so I tuned up the engine. All of a sudden I have overheating problems. The engine is running better than it has ever ran.
I verified my max temp is 250-260 when my temp gauge shows max (needle to the right) temp. I live in a year round warm/hot climate - 75 to 88F every day. I took the heat exchanger off. Can I remove the oil thermostat and put a plug in?

If I were you I would remove the oil thermostat and test it, it may be bad, and then replace it. My car was running in the 240-250f range when the air temps were in the 80s. Tested the thermostat to discover it wasn't beginning to open until 250f. After putting in a new one the oil temps now max in the 220s with outside temps in the upper 90s and using a/c.
