Ive been discussing my (almost complete) valve adjustment with a friend who is working on his corvair. Have you all seen how its done on that flat six? Looks a whole lot easier. Adjusting corvair valves - YouTube

^^^ Yep, it is very easy to set-up hydraulic lifers (self adjusting - set it and forget it).

I'm glad to see you are getting the engine turning/valve adjustment taken care of!

It's the same method for all Chevies with ball-pivot rockers, pushrods and hydraulic lifters. Surely you don't want to regress to an ancient valve train.

Unfortunately, the video person couldn't articulate what he was trying to demonstrate. FWIW, since I had one too: Back off adj. nut until clatter heard, tighten nut until no noise, then + 1/4-1/2 turn. Don't attempt this at home with your 911.
