New User Project 911

Hi, been reading now for a couple months.

Recently started putting a car back together that has been sitting for years in a storage unit.

I have a good engine, trans and have done a ton of cleanup work. Getting to the point where I have run out of free things to do and not sure where to head first. I am about 90% done with a full AC delete (thanks to this board). All that's left is to remove whats left of the hoses.

My interests are in RS Carpet, RS Door panels, and parts that fall on the racier end of things such as a wevo shifter, Rennline floorboards etc...

I know I need to go through the brakes and at least replace the cv joints and axles. I also need a speedometer. The paint is fairly rough but there is no rust or serious damage.

Here are a couple pics of my progress so far.

Thanks! I am looking forward to many aspects of this project!

My copy of "101 projects" should be here on Tuesday and I can't wait to get reading.

Just wrapped up the AC delete. Got everything, which was much more involved than some of the threads led me to believe! I also finished removing the center console this morning.

What next... I am thinking of removing the seats and carpet since I plan on replacing both. Just wonder if there other stuff I should be focusing on. I am having a hard time figuring out the best order of operations.

Time for an update. Interior gutted, stripped of adhesives, stripped back targa bar to bare stainless. Will be wet sanding back to brushed look in the next week or so. Shaped new foam for the b-pillars. Almost ready for rewrapping everything else.

RS America carpet and door panels sitting in my basement. All parts and seals to put the targa back together are picked out and ordered. Sourced new vinyl for the vents and targa interior. Ill be picking up trans mount, steering wheel and some other goodies this weekend.

Working on a car like this a few hours here and there is satisfying and rewarding. Much more so than I thought it would be.

Full steam ahead!

Thought I would post a quick update. Still cranking away! I vastly underestimated the amount of time this stuff takes! I now have my storage room and work shop over taken by parts. Seems like a nice collection of stuff has accumulated. Who knew collecting parts would be this fun. Momentum is still there... hoping I can keep up as it starts to cool off.

After spending the first couple months working on the interior, I have moved back to more dirty work. Just shipped the oil tank to Pacific Oil Cooler. Still need to remove all of the unnecessary stuff in engine compartment since I'm going carbed. Couple of big purchase left (CV Axles, and Rear Oil lines) before I can start re-assembly.

Some more fun photos.
