Question Bosch distributor parts

Anyone know of a supplier of Bosch distributor parts? I am seeking springs, bushings, shims, etc.

Thanks

Scott

Porsche Crest

Scott,

A 'Bosch-authorized' service center may be able to get a few parts, but Porsche doesn't list any replacement internal parts.

Any industrial bearing supply store can get the proper bushings.

A motor/generator rebuild shop may have replacements for the fiber washers, shims, spring washers, clips, bushings and springs that are worn out or missing.

I needed some springs for my dist. I called 2 places that rebuild Bosch dists. They both would not sell me parts. One guy wanted $200 to rebuild my dist. and the other wanted $350. For 2 springs. Dicks. I put Chevy V8 springs in from Summit Racing. I got a set of 3 for $5.
I would go with crankfired before I paid someone to rebuild my dist.
You get the same thing when you want an odo. gear.
Rant over
Good luck

Cool

A couple of years ago my distributor bushings wore out and let the star piece that spins on the rotor shaft collide with the magnetic pick-up, destroying the magnet inside the base plate. The pricing for any available parts was outrageous, and of course the main piece was unavailable. I found a distributor from a BMW 535 for $50.00, and was able to cannibalize it for the bushings, the hall-effect pick-up, as well as several other pieces, including the base plate .

The only rub was that the BMW spun in the opposite direction, The base plate had a pin that just had to be moved from one position to another for my application. Neither the weights nor the vacuum advance unit were able to be converted, but I think you will find all the parts you are looking for at a very reasonable price given the abundance of six cylinder BMWs in the bone yards. There is probably one out there that spins in the same direction, I just ended my search when I found the parts I needed.

Good luck, I hope this helps.
