"M" brake calipers
Does anyone know if you can use a front "M" brake caliper on the rear, replacing the rear caliper.
I have SC calipers on the front of my 72 911 and "M" calipers on the rear. One rear caliper has a frozen piston. I can pull it apart and rebuild it or it looks like I could just take one of the old front calipers and place it on the rear????

the front M has pistons that are too big for use in back w/ A or S or Carrera A fronts

Yeah that's what I thought, kind of a brake bias effect. I guess I'd better take the back one off and rebuild it.

Bill
Does that mean that the SC calipers have the same size piston as the "M" just on the 3" spacing??

Yes, all the 911 rear M's from '89-83 are the same, the '84 -'89s all got the bigger pistons, they all have the same 3" mounts
