proper tranmission for 80 3.0L

To all you experts,
I have an 80 3.0 with a 77 915/61 transmission. The transmission that originally came out with this 3.0 engine is a 915/63.
I don't have the 915/63 transmission, but want to know if it is better that I find one and use it> ? or should I just stay with a 915/61.

FWIW, I have a 915/61 bolted up to my 85 3.2.
Just glancing at Peter Morgans 911 book. It descibes the changes from the 61 to the 63, as taller gears.
