The 911 heating system is really comical. All other cars from the era were like now, turn lever or switch to heat, turn other knob or switch to feet, floor, feet and floor and defrost. What the heck were the Germans thinking??? Why all the fans?? The Bug had more space to heat and worked great! At least Porsche did not put the catalytic converter in the way of the exhaust valves to adjust!

There's a way to fix the problem of the cat being in the way of adjusting the exhaust valves. Take it off and adj. your valves, when done, put a smaller cat bypass on. When it comes time to get emissions done, put the cat back on for a day. When you come home after the emissions test, take the cat off, adj. the valves, and put the bypass on. Repeat as necessary!
This way you will remember when you adjusted your valves last. Its also a good idea to keep an extra set of gaskets for it. Do it on your next order to Pelican, your calling them once a month for parts anyway!
