brake caliper rebuild -piston brake seal ATE
What is the purpose of the yellow mark on the internal ATE piston seal?

I believe it's so you know its orientation incase you accidentally twist it during installation. Whichever side it's on new in the box is the side it should be on when installed in the bore.

It is on the inside of the seal, so when installed ,the yellow mark side, (dull side )is down and the shiny side ) is the top side or seal side .
Maybe thats the reason . it is impossible to turn it inside out and install it ,as it will not stay that way, unless you force it. still curious.
