My vote is you take that $2K, (not counting instalation) and invest in a few drivers ed events. My guess is that you will find that your car handles very well, and you will have a better idea of what exactly you want to improve, if you still think it needs improving.

No, I'm not starting ****.

I also would not buy anything from someone who would willingly do this to a 911.

The H&R kit is good and widely used. It's better to buy a kit like that than just the springs. The reason is that the kit has the springs and shocks matched to each other and also that kit allows a very large variation on ride height adjustment. Further that kit allows you to mount the RS adjustable anti-sway bars from the rear. The kit you are pointing to uses a stiffer than stock progressive spring and the stock rubber strut hats which is a good compromise for street use. If you want a more aggressive setup they make another coilover kit with monoball hats and heavier linear springs with tenders. Another popular alternative to the H&R kit is the Bilstein PSS-9 system. Similar to the H&R but it offers adjustable shocks. Using a hit like this would be similar to if you upgraded a 911 to something like 22/28 torsion bars. Stiff but still streetable. A big improvement; I have this exact setup in my 993. It's what the car should have been built with from the factory.

Tom your response was very informative and helpful. My car is not a track car and was not purchased for that purpose. I would, however like to lower it and this is what is necessary. If I do deceide to become an auto-x driver the car will be ready and willing. I apalogize that we do not get much 993 traffic here but somehow my questions do get answered in a most reliable way. I also want to mention that white 993 looks fine to me. Not trying to start anything also.

I dont want this to turn ugly guy's, so keep in mind that my tone is calm and sincere. I honestly think being an enthusiast is an individual program where opinions do not run parallel. I enjoy the idea of each 911 or whatever car is unique to its owner, some folks go to far others duplicate and some all factory. I would have to sum it up by saying if it is what is creating your enthusiasm than go for it. Why try to crush someone's idea of what's cool for your idea of what's cool.SmileWavy
