Problem with reverse after clutch replacement 915
Hello, i've replaced the engine and the clutch on the car, and found one problem.
The 1,2,3,4,5 will engage right without problem, maybe the 4th is very "soft" and it will shift without any "force". The problem, is the Reverse is not engaging, i still have the shift and coupler "nude", so i can recheck the connecting rods, but don't know where to start. I tried making force, and checking for the safe clip so it doesnt interfere, but no luck. Also i found if i press the clutch pedal all the way down, it will make some extra force on the engine, or something like that and will bring the RPM down, if i press like 80% the gear will enter without that RPM decrease. Any ideas? Thanks, Ariel |
Stock clutch and pressure plate? What else did you do to the transmission and engine??

Did you properly adjust the clutch? A lot of shifting problems are caused by a poorly adjusted clutch.

The clutch was propertly torqued as 101 book. I was reading all the night, and could this problem be caused by a bad shift linkage adjustment? I have removed it prior to engine removal for overhaul.
Maybe i have to check also for the cable length and free movement (new cable installed) But my main problem is the reverse right now, not the RPM down (which is minimal). Thanks! |
