Post CIS heads....

Can I mount carbs on CIS 2.7 heads? Thought I would ask before I do something stupid.

Thanks

I've got carbs on my 2.7. gasket barely covers notch where injectors were, but has been working fine for 2 years now.

All 1970 thru 1977 911 heads are fundamentally the same casting. Some 2.2 and 2.4 engines came with carbs. So, no there isn't a problem.

Do you have Bruce Anderson's Porsche 911 Performance Handbook?

Hi.

Actually the CIS heads are better than the MFI heads if you want to install carbs. The MFI heads have holes for the injectores that you are not using with carbs. A lot of the 2.7 CIS heads have "S" spec port sizes too.
