Does this thing have the rectifier diodes outside the alternator, at least only things that I found inside the alternator were the "coals" (brushes or whatever they are called).
//Zen PS: And no, There was no other blower inside the fan housing, it was just loose alternator cover that directed the air to the cylinders. I was mistaken. [This message has been edited by Zendalar (edited 08-28-2001).] |

Last night I put the alternator back in place, but could not find the external rectifier diodes, only the "aftermarket" voltage regulator. U think the diode bridge is inside this?

Zen,
Yes, the diodes are inside the case. Do you have a Haynes manual? The disassembly of the Motorola alternator is shown on pp. 197-199. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa 1992 Dodge Dakota 5.2 4X4 parts hauler |

Warren, to get to diodes, do you have to take apart the alternator itself?
If so, damn, because I already put the alternator back in place... [This message has been edited by Zendalar (edited 08-29-2001).] |
