rear brake lights on

hey. I just completed a restore of my 1973 911 e my brake lights stay on the whole time with key on. I replaced all brake lines and master cylinder too. my old mc had a 2 prung switch on the mc. the new only has one. I read on a few previous posts about the wires. so I think I have the right wire connected. so why are my brake lights on the whole time im sure I have everything wired right. the brakes work fine with a firm pedal. what is wrong??

The 73 has a mechanical brake light switch attached to the pedal cluster, located behind the wooden floor board. You may wish to check the switch to see if it is stuck in the "closed" mode or the contacts are sticking.
