Fresh air blower fan speeds?

My blower was making a lot of noise, I followed the instructions here and removed it, cleaned and lubed the motor. I had to redo the gaskets for the direction valves but otherwise it went well. But now I have a different problem, on fan position I the fan seems to be on high, on II it slows down some, and on III it goes back to high?
Did I do something wrong, is there something I missed?

If you read this thread it explains the cause of your problem

What is correct gap for blower resistor contacts ?

But the Short answer is the resistor for speed 1 is closed which is sending full power to the fan thats why it goes to speed 3, there has to be a gap in the resistor contact to work properly

Best regards

Thanks, after taking it apart again you were absolutely right , the contact under the large windings was rusted closed. I cleaned it up and bent it a touch and after assembly it works great.

Unobtinium just search there are lots of threads on blower motor and flap fixes. There is one very detailed one with lots of pictures. One hint I can give you is I found that the craft store Michaels has foam sheets the perfect width and feel to make the repair. They are in the kids section in 8x10 sheets. Some tracing and work with a razor blade and they work perfectly.
