warm up reg problems?

 So here it is, when i start the sc cold it starts right up but back fires (yes i know it usaully does) but then if i give it gas it starts to accelerate but the gags and backfires. Changed out the warm up reg and still does it. It also runs like a dream when it is warmed up with no problem. some help would be greatly appreciated. I just replaced the oxy sensor and the plugs wires and cap and rotor should be just fine. gotta be something with cold start up valve or something.

Have you checked fuel pressure? Mine was having acceleration problems and it was the warm up regulator and the fue pump. It would hesitate real bad if I gave it gas.

Sounds like your new WUR needs it's warm-up mixture richened some. They are sometimes out of whack, even when new. Since your car fires right up, the cold start valve is probably fine.

You can tap the WUR's pin down slightly to richen the warmup mixture. I'm sure if you run a search on adjusting a WUR, you will find plenty of information. Don't throw out your old WUR, it's probably just out of adjustment.

Like Jeff said, checking your fuel pressures with a CIS testor will tell you what's going on.
