Removing chrome rings on H1 ( H-1 ) headlights -- How to
 

I would like to take a spare set of H1 headlights apart to clean them up and do not want to risk messing them up in the least. I see that the three long adjusting screws seem to be holding it all together (or are they?). There is also the fourth screw with a flexible shaft, which has to come out It all seems to be spring loaded, though, and that has me a little spooked. I would not want these things to explode into a million little parts (I'd rather leave them dirty!).

Has anyone ever taken these lights apart who would be willing to walk me though the process? I think that changing lenses would require taking the whole light apart, so I'm hopeful someone knows how to do it properly. Thanks in advance!

No screws but a dozen or so wire clips hold them in place, take note or a pic then remove those clips and the chrome trim will separate from the assembly, the adjustment screws should pry off the mounts, if you need to remove them, just mark their position, you may still need to adjust after re-assembly in any case.

Also note, the adjustment screws with copper straps are your grounds, make sure those are intact, or your light will act up on you.
