What does "replace all rubber" entail?
 

I've seen various lists of "What To Do" when you buy an air-cooled 911, and one of the common instructions is to replace all the "rubber". What exactly does that include?
I'm assuming all rubber oil lines.
Probably all gas lines.
Does this include vacuum hoses?
What about clutch/brake lines?
Other stuff?

I have been under the car again recently and found what appears to be some oil weeping on the large oil line that heads towards my front oil cooler. I figure if I'm going to replace that, I should hit most of the others while my oil is drained.

Add the fuel/evap system hoses. Suspension rubber. Tires. Door/window seals, trim. Start with the safety items and work your way down.

Also all plastic bushings. Typically found in steering wheel collar, pedal cluster, throttle-linkage in the engine and sleeve in the tranny. This along with shifter bushings and shifter-coupler bushings.

Don't be discouraged by the list. You can work on stuff as it fails (for non-safety items, where it becomes an annoyance) or whenever you get access to it (like an engine drop).

Off the top of my head, this would be my prioritized list:

1 - brake lines
2 - fuel lines
3 - oil lines
4 - vacuum lines
5 - shift linkage bushings
6 - suspension bushings

Do numbers 2, 3 and 4 in conjunction with an engine drop to proactively (or not) address oil leaks.
