84 930 Clutch pedal became stiff

Last night i noticed my clutch pedal began to make a creaking noise, this morning i was driving and pressed the clutch and heard a Snap/clunk sound. The creaking went away but the pedal became much stiffer to press, is there such a thing as a spring on the pedal that could have flown off? The creaking sounded like a spring

Thank you

If I'm not mistaken, there's a spring (shaped like Omega, I think) down under the car near the trans, that can cause this effect. I don't think the spring that would cause this is on the pedal assembly.

If the clutch engages alright then check the Omega spring at the gearbox. I would suggest checking your clutch cable and making adjustments while you are there.

Ill be sure to check that spring and the cable, however the sound definitley came from the pedal up front and as did the creaking.
When im with the car again ill check there as well.

I found this pic of the omega spring in another thread. There is a heavy spring on the clutch pedal so I would suggest checking that first. It's easiest to take the pedal cluster out to replace it, though.

Pull the board over the pedal cluster and have a look at the spring on the left side of the clutch pedal.

My 86 930 clutch pedal spring broke and its NLA. However, i was advised by parts heaven wreckers that the standard 911 one fits, although its a different part number. They were right.

Hey, That's my car!

Replacing the omega spring is very easy. You'd be surprised how simple.

Disconnect the cable
Remove the snap clip holding the lever on (it's already off in that picture).
Slide the lever off
Remove and replace the spring.
Installation is reverse of above.

Here's another image of everything installed before I removed the cable and the lever. I was doing my first engine drop this week and snapped a bunch of pictures.
