Brake Question- locking-up and doing a little wiggle
Recently rebuilt the front calipers as Goldie was taken out of 6yr storage and pulling to the left during hard braking. She stops evenly now, however, when she locks up, she gives a little wiggle...
Anyone know what's up with that? Thanx in advance for your help! |

A wiggle in what? Not much to guess on here.
Also what year and what tires? (How old are those tires?)

Was the road wet or cambered slightly. Could just be the road conditions and not necessarly the suspension. The calipers might show uneven wear or could also be sticking. Tire wear might even cause instability especially if you have a flat spot after six years storage. IŽd put new tires on and start from there

One dragging caliper can cause that - pre-warmed, grips quicker than the cold one.

might want to check weight balance, I've had calipers that don't retract very well but they seem to get pushed back while driving, that's my 2 cents. Check all the easy stuff first: tire pressures, clean/inspect disks, pads

You might need more toe-in the rear tires. Under hard braking you induce a toe-out condition. This will cause the tail to wiggle.

A little more toe-in helped a lot.
