Bell, nice pictures...I too have been doing some serious exterminating lately. I was wondering if these bugs just think our cars are attractive and have a death wish to mate with them??? Hey, why is your car not pink any more?

I go up that way often to visit Inlaws in Bradford. It is beautiful. Another great drive is up Route 22 to the New York line. Go that way to Watkins Glen. Don't get to see hills like that in Akron

Bell,

Thanks for the beautiful photos. Was this a one-man event?

Looks like it was a one-man event. Not a bad thing actually, cause then you don't have to try to keep up with drivers like Brett & Vic

Fantastic photos I must add

yes.....one man event i would like to organize a little group drive though, plenty of room up there and lots to do if you like relaxing. i've been to bradford to the zippo museum, great fun.
my fathers retreat is off of 394 about a mile south of the new york border, i love the drive up through oil city on rt.8 and before tionesta is a great stretch of about 7 miles where MUCH high speed fun is had since there are few spots for the law to sit

i've done this trip countless times, this was the second time in the 911. ron's trip has inspired me to do this more often
here's a few more pics.......

the slowest part of the trip....1 minute in jeep, 5 minutes in 911 not bad though

this is a couple of miles north in new york

this is on the way home at tionesta lake

I refer to this picture...

That is some really beautiful scenery... makes me want to just sneak out of work and drive for hours and hours with the top down.

Hey Melbournians,
notice the reservoir is nearly up to capacity?
What's it been? 7-10 years? since we've seen our dams that full?

Cool Twins

Very much like the view from the car park to our Thomson River Dam, up north of Moe.
It's good run too.

I spent a very enjoyable day at the Festival of Speed (UK) recently - saw some really great cars. But it was great returning to mine at the end of the day. I live in the west so I really did drive off into the sunset. The roads were quiet, when I got back some of the bugs looked like they'd hit my car at 140 - nudge nudge wink wink ; )

If you'd like to see some photos from the event (there is a 917), they're at...

Nice pics, although I'm living in the middle of all that scenery. Your first pic of Rt.8 was taken about 2 miles from my house... small world.
Take a side trip to the Allegheny National Forest next time (thru Fryburg area) to see old growth trees & what PA was really like. Wonderful twisty ride on great roads. If you like to shift, you & your clutch will get quite a workout.
regards,
jlex.

Forgot to add: next time, plan your drive for around Oct. 15th... we should be at the height of the fall leaf season... Allegheny Nat. forest is always our Fall destination.

Bell

I take that road (Route 28) to work and school just about everyday. The view of the river, at certain spots at certain times of the day, is great. My favorite watering hole is actually a cabana-esque bar at a marina right off 28.

The Tionesta area is beautiful as well. My all time favorite ride in a Porsche was late one fall night, between State College (home of Penn State, where I was in attendance) and a friend's lake cottage in Conneaut Lake, PA. I had to drive through the mountains, Tionesta, etc. in my newly acquired 912. It was a lot of fun, especially if you don't know the roads very well and you're late!

Great pictures.

David

we've been going to the tionesta/warren area since i was about 10 years old. i know the fryburg area and so many of the backroads it's silly next time i'm coming through i'll start a thread to see if anybody wants to do lunch. we had a cabin above west hickory for years, i used to do ALOT of poker runs on my atc 250r up there, did alot of adventuring in the wilderness when i was a kid in that whole area. i didn't get a chance to get to kinzu but will be hitting it next time i'm there for some great 911 shots.
the drive to "hearts content" is one of my fav's

Wydryd......yes it's gravel, my yoko intermediates although VERY warm and sticky were fine on it as long as i kept it under 5mph, didn't even hear a "ping".
