fresh air ventilation control
My fresh air motor stopped working. Pulled the motor and put power to the power pin and grounded the 3 other pins separately . The motor works smoothly with 3 separate speeds. So no problem with the motor. The electrical connector has power to one pin. The other 3 pins are grounds for the 3 different speeds. So no problem with the power supply. I am guessing it is the ventilation control inside the car. I have read there are 3 contacts for the 3 fan speeds, each feeding one of the 3 grounding pins. My question is how to remove the ventilation control unit and what should I look for hen removed to correct the problem. Thanks Jerry

The speed control has a screw in the back that holds it in place you can see it if you look at it from under the dash once removed you can pull the out a bit because the cables prevent it from going out completely but enough to see the fan speed lever contact that slides over a plate with different copper contact points which activates the different speeds check for debris in that contact points which sometimes prevent closing the circuit also check the ground. Mine had rust in the contact points so i used a fine grit sandpaper to reveal the copper again and it worked ok
Hope that helps Regards
