how many fuel pump relays?
I thought that the relay for the fuel pump relay in a 3.2 car was contained in the DME relay (C-618-154-00). But on the PP catalog they say the red relay is for up to '89 cars (C-615-108-01). Are there 2 separate relays? I also seem to recall Warren saying that the red relay could be used for others in a pinch...so it is worth keeping one around (yeah I know...only if you actually own a damn car).

The 3.2 with DME only has one fuel relay and it resides in the DME relay, actually the DME relay provides a ground for the fuel pump fuse.
The reds are the same as the blacks except they can handle higher amperage. Having a car doesn't have anything to do with having knowledge!! Regards,

Hi:
With all due respect..the reds do *not* handle more amperage than the blacks. The reds have an internal diode for those circuits that can't tolerate "backwards" current flow...acts as a "check valve". Result: You can use reds where blacks were used originally...but not vice versa. ---Wil Ferch |
