Brake caliper logo

I am getting ready to refinish the calipers on my 95 C2 and wondered what is the best way to restore the Porsche logo. Searching, I found someone who used hi-temp vinyl letters. Is that what most folks use?

Actually,if you look on Ebay you will find some that are done with high quality vinyl.I've used the stencils on two sets of calipers and they held up to the heat and abuse ...

The logo was originally pad printed onto the calipers with paint when Brembo manufactured them.

The easiest way to re-create this look is to use cut out vinyl lettering.

I have done a few sets of calipers this way.

I prep. the calipers off of the car and carefully mask the pistons and bleeders.

Next base coat (color) the caliper with ceramic hi-temp paint. Many use the Dupli-color kits.
This paint can be sprayed. Use Acetone as a reducer.

After the base color coat dries apply the Porsche lettering.

Then clear coat with either hi-temp, or I use regular catalyzed automotive clear coat.

Great results and the paint has held up fine on wife's 993 daily driver. We also use for autocross occasionally.

Rather time consuming project but well worth the results!

Thanks, this is part of a long term restore of the suspension and brakes. The car is up on jack stands so I'm not in any hurry.
