I think we should have a local one Sam. A lot of people will be on different schedules for the Autofest; when they go up, when they come back, where they stay, etc. The Autofest itself is quite an "event". I think it's a great idea and the 24th gives everyone plenty of time to make plans for it. We should have a pretty good turn out.
Oh yeah, and I don't think my wife has planned anything for that weekend, Yet. Call me selfish.

We need an excuse on the 25th to make a run down to the beach. Don't know which 'local' beach you had in mind, and i don't mean to plan your party, but there are large parking lots at the El Segundo beaches, just a stone's throw from Pelican Parts. Just a suggestion. Mike '86 coupe |

The Grand Prix Region of Zone 8 has their monthly breakfast meeting the 1st Sat of the month at 0900 at Hennessys Tavern in South Redondo Beach. All the Pcars try and park in a row in front of the restruant. This place is about a 3 min walk from the nicest beach in the South Bay. Here's the link http://vista.pca.org/gpx/

aug 25 is the pomona swamp meet...I know a bunch or porschers will be there...I was planning to head out there...
maybe we should talk to Nori (Wayne's significant other) who is supposedly planning a drive and it could end with a beach BBQ... |

I told my wife not to plan anything for that weekend till I find out exactly when we're going to do this. What do think Sam? Have you decided to "officially" plan this get-together?
Just my .02, why don't you take it out of Poll and ink it. Might get more response that way.

You're right. It'll be literally impossible to accommodate everyone. So looks like the best thing to do is to just pick a place and time. Whoever can attend, great. Perhaps another one in the future will be allow others to join in on the fun.

What about Decker Canyon on up to Malibu?
 I think we would need Jacks OK on that though. Wouldn't want to step on his turf or worse, get in his way while he's flying through the canyon.Either way Sam put it to a poll or just go for it, pick a place and time and I'll be there.

Huntington is a great place to this I think. Lots of parking, Main St. and peer close by, plenty of stuff to do after w/ a significant other if they come, pretty centralized for everyone. I don't know if you need a reservation for one of the picnic spots w/ a BBQ or not. I bet one of the guys that live down there would know.

If that's the general area, Bolsa chica is closer to the Fwy @ Seal Beach Blvd. There is much better parking, and Pits for BBQ'ing..

good to see you're taking the lead on this one. I vote for a beach front setting with lots of room to hang out and kick tires with everyone. I'm not familiar with the area but I'm IN where ever you guys decide to go. May not have the S to drive this year though, I'm giving it a rest after Monterey "Hysterics". May ride with buddy, Ernie W. if he can get his Speedster ready. Either way I'll be there. Looking forward to hanging out with you guys for this one.
