Show me your (stock) rear seat area soundproofing
Let's see what it looks like when you remove the trim and seats, carpeting etc.
...and please post the year of your car, so we can compare what Porsche did differently over various model years... |

by stock, I mean what the factory did - did your car have a completely molded unit of compressed fiber that was glued to the sheet metal?
also, did you add that black sheeting material on the firewall proper? or is it factory? |

yes mine had the fiber attached to the heavy molded rubber piece.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() there was no real need for it due to my end results. what you see in the previous pics is a full layer of cld (i had it leftover, but not enough to be of worth to anyone else so i overdid it) and then a layer of ccf over that (the black stuff, same reason as above). ![]() ![]() ![]()

Is there anybody in the L.A. area that has taken theirs out and doesn't want it. Mine was butchered and I'd like to replace it.

I suggest not putting the old items back in - even on a "modern" car like an SC. Use strips of butyl based dampening material ot cover 25% or more of the sheet metal panels, then closed cell foam with MLV (if you can stand adding wt. back there) and be CERTAIN there are NO gaps anywhere in the MLV.
Now, does anyone have photos of an early car with the rear trim removed? What did Porsche use back then? |
