Bad Alternator or blocked fuel lines?

Alt light started coming on when started, rev her up and light went out. I have a volt/charger gadget plugged into the cig. lighter, glad I had this. Alt light stop coming on and the gadget was telling me no charge. The volt meter in the cig lighter was correct. Changed out the alt. and whoa and behold, a noise I thougt was a valve dissappeard, which made me so happy I gave her a drink of sea foam. Car is running better than I thought it was capable of. Question is: Can an alt, that shows correct charge, which it was until it died, cause a 3.2 from performing? Was it the Drink, maybe cleaning out some junk in the fuel lines, or the alt that improved the accleration? Is it bad to give her another drink? She likes that stuff.

An over-charging alternator's voltage spikes, can have an adverse effect on the CDI....

try running a can of that stuff through your vacuum while your car is running....good stuff. Just make sure you don't set off every single smoke alarm in a 3-mile radius.

I have been chasing an accelerating prob, just lack of pull you'd think a 911, 3.2 should have. Have replaced about anything had to do with fuel, fuel pump regulator, fuel damper, filter, fuel tank filter, checked inside of fuel tank, checked vacuum leaks a bazillion times, AFM apart and moved theneedle. All the 3 sensors , HTS, crank position, reference, all a couple years young. New plugs, wires, new dist. cap. Prob didn't hurt for a car 26+ years young. But... I think that Dang alt. has been a big part of the prob all along. I have figured out that, if these engines aren't "Perfect", can be a disappointment. By the way... Cheers to the 911 BBS contributors. Without it, I wouldn't be driving a 911. Thanks

I had a bit of a hesitation problem when accelerating, not terrible, but noticeable. I too changed fuel filter, plugs, wires, rotor etc. with not much improvement. Then when my alternator started to die, the car became impossible to drive, it wouldn't accelerate, just a lot of hesitating and bucking. Fixed the alternator and the engine runs perfectly, no more hesitation. I guess the incorrect charging voltage plays havoc with the DME.
