Euro VS USA 911 DME swap ?
Hello, I need some help with this: I sold a nice euro 84 Moss Green Carrera in 2007 locally. This week i received a phone call asking if i would buy the car back not running AS IS. I did, and we have determined the car needs a new DME.
We are not getting an injector pulse signal, though we have spark and the ICV is buzzing, ( DME relay clicks like its supposed to also) My main question is : can we use any USA 84-89 DME in this car, or will I have to get a non lamba ( no 02 sensor) Euro dme? This WPOZZZ euro car is an 84, and i had 911 Chip add a socket for the Steve Wong chip in 2007. I am hoping I can send the chip to them and see if its still ok and swap it in later. We just want a dme to get the car running again to see what else does not work. We got the car to run for a few minutes, but the gasoline was old, so we stopped it to drain flush and fill the tank with fresh fuel. We have no injector pulse again, so I want to buy a DME for this car ASAP. I posted to a Pelican for sale ad for a dme this morning to ask if the seller knew if his dme would work and that i would buy it this morning. I will post a pic of the unit with part number as I am going to the our shop soon to work on my 930 Turbo project car. Thank you all for any help. |

our host and a number of other folks repair DMEs -- see Pelican Parts - Product Information: DME-REBUILD for our host's service and search the forum for DME repair for alternatives.
