Shorter fan belts available?
Guys,
I just finished installing a new HO alternator with new fan & pulley. After a brief test everything seems ok, alternator light no longer on, etc. My issue is the fan belt. I'm pretty sure that the fan/alternator housing is mounted fine, but the fan belt seems a little loose and I'm not using any engine side shims. Has any of you run into this before? I'm using a 10 x 710 belt and it's not old. Does anyone know if a slightly smaller size can be used? And if so, what size? Thanks. ![]() Tyngsboro, MA |

Get the belt from Porsche. It fits much better.

Is your 10 x 710 belt a Continental belt? It's been documented here that that specific belt runs on the loose end of spec. If your are running the Conti belt you might want to try a different brand. -J
